LAKEWOOD, Calif. -- Suzanne Slavitter, vice president and co-owner
of Sports Empire here, launched a consulting business that she said
is designed to assist small and midsize leisure agencies grow their
businesses.
Called the Empire Consulting Group, the business will focus most
on helping agents create and implement marketing plans, both for
the short and long term.
Slavitter said she will be drawing on her experiences from the
last 15 years, the period during which she and her husband built
their Sports Empire operation, which is now a preferred to sports
tour supplier for several trade groups.
For the time being, she said, Empire Consulting is a "one-woman
show."
Among other offered customized consulting services, she said,
are identifying key preferred suppliers and negotiating with them;
developing and implementing niche product programs; creating and
distributing a newsletter; establishing or updating a leisure
customer database; creating and implementing sales training; and
creating and implementing an employee/agent incentive plan.
Fees will be hourly, with a minimum of five hours at $500, plus
expenses. Each additional hour is $50.
Slavitter also is an experienced speaker on agency marketing,
having appeared at ASTA, ARTA and other trade group events.
She currently is scheduled for another session, called Develop
Your Own Leisure Marketing Plan, for the SoCal chapter of ASTA; the
presentation will be part of a series of seminars set for Saturday,
Feb. 22, in the Renaissance Hotel at Los Angeles Airport.
