Classic Ibiza hotel reopens as Curio Collection member

The Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza has reopened as a member of Hilton’s Curio Collection after a renovation.

The property was built in 1933 as the island’s first purpose-built hotel, and has been declared by Unesco as “an asset of cultural interest.” The hotel has 33 rooms and features the ground-floor Café Montesol, which first opened along with the hotel.

Featuring a restored neo-colonial façade, the hotel is located near Dalt Vila (“Upper Town”), which is a Unesco World Heritage site. The hotel has an agreement with the nearby Ibiza Archaeological Museum in which guests can set up private meetings there.

The Curio Collection’s only other European hotel is Germany’s Reichshof Hamburg.
