Northstar Travel Group, parent of Travel Weekly, has
acquired Burba Hotel Network's event portfolio.
Burba Hotel Network produces 10 hospitality investment
events and conferences, including the prestigious Americas Lodging Investment
Summit (ALIS), held each January in Los Angeles.
ALIS is put on in partnership with the American Hotel &
Lodging Association. Northstar and AH&LA have agreed to co-produce the ALIS
group of events in the U.S. under a long-term partnership.
In addition to the ALIS group of events (including ALIS Law
and ALIS -- Summer Update), Burba Hotel Network produces HICAP, the Hotel
Investment Conference Asia Pacific in Hong Kong; HICAP Update in Singapore; and
AOCAP, the Alternative Ownership Conference -- Asia Pacific in Singapore. HICAP
is the largest hotel investment conference in Asia.
BHN also produces CHRIS, the Caribbean Hotel and Resort
Investment Summit in Miami; HOLA, the Hotel Opportunities Latin America
conference in Miami; Hot.E, the Hotel Investment Conference Europe in London;
and HIFI, Hotel Investment Forum India in Mumbai.
The Burba Hotel Network team, including founder and
president Jim Burba and vice president Bob Hayes, will continue to run events
working with Northstar Travel Group. Northstar plans to leverage its databases,
relationships and media properties to help grow the Burba event portfolio.
