AIRLINES VACATIONS is introducing its first packages to
Hawaii. The operator is able to offer the packages via Southwest
Airlines' code-share arrangement with ATA. The new product line
currently includes air-inclusive packages to Oahu and Maui and a
land-only package on Kauai. Packages to Hawaii's Big Island will
become available starting Aug. 25. Air-inclusive packages include
roundtrip air on either Southwest or ATA, hotel accommodations
ranging from two to 21 nights and airline and hotel taxes. The
operator offers a choice of 35 hotels in Oahu, 24 in Maui, 10 on
Kauai and 17 in Kona on the Big Island. Sample prices for
four-night packages to Oahu start at $899 from San Diego, $1,084
from Chicago (Midway), $1,269 from Orlando. Four-night packages to
Maui begin at $769 from San Diego, $964 from Chicago (Midway) and

UPGRADES: The Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu's
North Shore has completed $70 million upgrade that included room
interiors, the beachside restaurant and landscaping. The Four
Seasons Resorts Lanai plans a $50 million upgrade at the 102-room
Lodge at Koele. Work is scheduled for completion by mid-November.
Following the renovation, the property will be marketed as the Four
Seasons Resort Lanai, the Lodge at Koele.
APPOINTMENTS: Blue Sky Tours Hawaii has
appointed Kelley Sexton its representative for home-based travel
agents. Aqua Hotels & Resorts has named Robin Harlow to the
newly created position of director of sales. Other Aqua
appointments include Henry Peretz as general manager of the Aqua
Palms & Spa and Evelyn Shiroma as sales manager for the Ocean
Tower.

reservations system for six of its eight Waikiki properties. In
conjunction with its new marketing strategy, Aqua will also
implement an Internet marketing program developed by
TravelClick.
