EMBASSY SUITES HOTELS is touting its first hotel in Mexico, the Embassy Suites Hotel Mexico City Reforma, as a preview of things to come as the brand expands in Mexico and Latin America. The 18-story, 162-suite hotel recently opened in the heart of Mexico Citys business district on the Paseo de la Reforma. Marketed as an upscale, boutique hotel, the property offers high-speed, wireless Internet access in every room; flat-screen TVs in bedrooms and living rooms; luxury Italian bed linens; and a concierge. The hotel includes an Argentine-style steakhouse, a lobby bar serving a variety of Mexican tequilas, a Starbucks coffee shop, a fitness center and indoor pool and a conference center. Traditional Embassy Suites amenities include complimentary breakfast (with a Mexican flair) and evening cocktail receptions.

THE DEBUT of the Embassy Suites Hotel Mexico City Reforma jump-starts the brands plans to expand in Mexico and Latin America, according to Jim Holthouser, senior vice president, brand management, Embassy Suites Hotels. With the recent acquisition of Hilton International by Hilton Hotels Corp., we are finalizing our plans to develop in Mexico and other parts of Latin America, said Holthouser. The Embassy Suites Hotel Mexico City Reforma showcases how the brand can work in international capital destinations as well as other international settings, Holthouser said. Embassy Suites Hotels is a member of the Hilton Family of Hotels. For information or reservations, call (800) EMBASSY or visit www.embassysuites.com.

ALSO IN MEXICO CITY, Spa Marquis, the spa at the Marquis Reforma hotel, was named one of the Leading Spas of the World. An extension of Leading Hotels of the World, Leading Spas is the first-ever global certification of spa excellence worldwide. To achieve the distinction, spas must pass a strict inspection process that includes more than 200 criteria. Spa Marquis is the only member of Leading Spas in Mexico City and one of only six throughout Mexico.  For hotel bookings, call (800) 235-2387 or visit www.marquisreforma.com.
