RESORTS said it will open the 281-room, adults-only Royal
Cancun in January. Situated in the middle of Cancuns hotel zone,
the all-suite property will be marketed as a luxury resort with a
casually elegant atmosphere, modern amenities and classic Mexican
design elements. Designed by Mexican architect Jokin Luisa Donnay,
the oceanfront property will cost $55 million to build and will
feature the brands signature Royal Service program in about 80% of
rooms. Among other upgrades, Royal Service includes a dedicated
concierge, upgraded room amenities and a welcome gift. The resort
will feature six room types, including what Real describes as
Cancuns only swim-up master suite. The resort will have six
restaurants, a spa and 3,000 square feet of meetings space. For

MEANWHILE, Real Resorts is offering booking
incentives at the Royal Porto Real Luxury Resort & Spa in Playa
del Carmen. Under the initiative, agents who book the resort by
July 31 will receive a $50 booking bonus, and the client will
receive a $100 spa voucher for every four-night minimum stay

ANOTHER
MEXICAN RESORT targeting agents is the Paraiso de la
Bonita in the Riviera Maya. The 90-suite boutique property, a
member of Leading Small Hotels, is promoting a $198 a night agent
rate through Dec. 15. The rate, priced about 70% below the regular
rack rate, is available to certified IATA agents and can be booked

TRAVEL
IMPRESSIONS is promoting Mexicos golf courses and spa
resorts with its Tee Time & Spa Too promotion, available at a
number of the destinations properties. Among other things, the
promotion includes free rounds of golf, free golf equipment rentals
and discounts at golf pro shops as well as free or discounted spa
treatments and use of spa facilities at participating resorts. The
promotion is available on bookings made through Aug. 31 for travel

CLICK, Mexicanas low-cost subsidiary, is
planning to bring its low-fare service to the U.S. market for the
first time. Click filed late last month with the U.S.
Transportation Dept. for approval to fly between Torreon, Mexico,
and Las Vegas and Los Angeles aboard Fokker F100 planes. Mexicana
would place its code on the flights.
