Anguilla's Hotel & Tourism Association launched a website, www.bookanguilla.com, that features a consumer booking engine for participating hotels.
The site, developed by Regatta Travel Solutions, will expand to include a travel agent component "when we have enough participation from properties in Anguilla," according to Regatta.
"The model is simple and makes sense. It puts the control back in the hands of the hoteliers and produces measurable results," said Gilda Gumbs-Samuel, AHTA executive director.
Several other Caribbean destinations have already signed with Regatta for similar booking engines, including Barbados, Grenada, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia and Tobago.
