Spirit Airlines is ramping up its San Juan service with two new destinations and more flights on existing routes.

The airline will launch daily nonstop service from New York Newark and Boston to San Juan on Dec. 19 and will add an additional daily flight from Philadelphia on March 1.

Spirit earlier this year began nonstop service from San Juan to Baltimore, Philadelphia and Tampa, Fla.,
Orlando and Fort Lauderdale are gateways, as well, for Spirit flights to San Juan as well as to Aguadilla, on Puerto Rico's west coast.

"We are constantly looking for growth opportunities in our network, and we're proud of the growth we have had in Puerto Rico over the years," said John Kirby, vice president of network planning for Spirit.
