MIAMI -- Celebrity Cruises newest ship, 91,000-ton Summit, will
embark on its maiden voyage on Oct. 1, 2001 with an 11-night
western Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale.
The 1,950-passenger ship, currently under construction in
France, will be the third of four "Millennium-class" ships
Celebrity is launching through 2002.
Summit will offer a 25,000 square-foot spa, a specialty
restaurant with a demonstration gallery and dine-in wine cellar,
and a "classic maritime" theme, details of which will be announced
later, said Celebrity officials.
The ship will offer 10- and 11-night eastern and western
Caribbean sailings through April 19, 2002.
