The Azamara Journey has emerged from dry dock in Freeport,
Bahamas, with major upgrades, including the addition of a pair of spa suites.
Azamara said the two new suites have been built adjacent
to the Sanctum Spa and provide exclusive access to spa amenities that will be
included in the price of the rooms. The Club World Ocean and Owner’s Suites
have also been fully redesigned.
The ship’s public spaces have been renovated, including the
Patio, Windows Cafe, Discoveries Restaurant and Discoveries Bar, the Living
Room and the Cabaret Lounge.
Azamara said the Patio, formerly known as the Pool Grill,
was completely transformed into a sit-down al fresco dining experience and has
been given a new menu.
The area previously called the Looking Glass Lounge has
also been renamed and improved. It is now called the Living Room. Azamara said
the ship’s casino received new slot machines, carpeting, and reupholstered
seating.
The 694-passenger Journey is the first of Azamara’s two
ships to receive the upgrade package. The Azamara Quest is scheduled to receive
similar improvements in April in Singapore.
