Mariner of the Seas arrives for maiden voyage

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Mariner of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International's fifth and final Voyager-class cruise ship, arrived in Port Canaveral Nov. 11 in preparation for its Nov. 16 maiden voyage.

The 142,000-ton, 3,114-passenger Mariner will be the largest ship based in Port Canaveral, and will offer year-round seven-day alternating eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.

Olympic medallist Jean Driscoll will christen the ship during a ceremony Nov. 14.
