ORLANDO -- "Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's
Best Kept Secrets" is a guide book for clients seeing Disney in the
"Been there, done that" category.
In a place inhabited by a famous mouse whose likeness adorns
everything from butter pats to umbrellas, there also are hundreds
of images of that same mouse hidden in plain sight.
That place is Walt Disney World, and that famous mouse -- as
you've probably guessed -- is Mickey Mouse.
As author Steven M. Barrett describes, a Hidden Mickey is a
"partial or complete image of Mickey Mouse that has been designed
to blend into the surroundings in such a way that its presence is
not immediately obvious."
These images can be found almost anywhere: on a mural, a shop
fixture, a chandelier or even a weather vane.
Barrett organizes his nearly 400 documented Hidden Mickeys in
scavenger hunts broken down by each of the resort's theme parks,
restaurants, hotels and other public spaces. Clues and detailed
hints are available for those who get stuck.
The book is available in bookstores, by calling (203) 452-9384
