CHICAGO -- Since Sept. 11, 2001, consumers interested in "adventure
and experiential" travel have shied away from Tanzania, Morocco and
Nepal, knocking them out of iExplore.com's top 10 destinations for
2002, the company said.
India, too, which was 11th in 2001, dipped to 23rd in the
adventure travel site's 2002 rankings.
The 10 most popular destinations from 1 to 10 were: China, Peru,
Galapagos Islands, Alaska, Costa Rica, Egypt, Australia, Italy,
Vietnam and Ireland.
