Disney World admission price raised $2

ORLANDO -- Disney World increased its gate-admission price by $2 to $52 .

That price, for single-day theme park tickets, is for ages 10 and older. For ages 3 to 9, the price is $42.

The prices for Park Hopper passes purchased in advance did not increase, so they become more attractive relative to the gate price.

A four-day Park Hopper pass for adults, for example, is $16 less than gate price.

For kids 3 to 9, the savings is $15 for advance purchases.

Park Hopper passes are available in four- to seven-day versions.

A Disney spokeswoman declined to elaborate on why the gate price was raised.
