Four Seasons Prague set to reopen

PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- The Four Seasons Prague -- which closed last August after massive flood damage to sub-basements and technical equipment -- will reopen June 20 after millions of dollars in repairs and upgrades.

During the nine-month closure, 54,000 square feet of basement was replaced, and the hotel added a gift boutique, a business center and a manicure/pedicure room in its health club. Guest rooms had not been damaged.

General manager Rene Beauchamp said the closure, although long and expensive, offered the hotel an opportunity to refine the product.

"Anything we didn't like about our operations we were able to change," he said. "That was the silver lining; we're better and stronger than before."

The Four Seasons Prague is offering a reopening bed-and-breakfast package priced at about $287 per night, per couple; agent commission is 10%.
