HANALEI -- Hanalei Colony Resort on Kauai's north shore really
wants travel agents to visit.
Travel Agent Month at Hanalei Colony will take place in October
and November (excluding Thanksgiving week).
During this time, agents are invited to stay at the property --
in the best rooms available -- for $75 per night, for a maximum of
three nights.
For additional nights, the resort's usual travel agent discount
of 20% off rack rates (starting at $180) will apply.
Agents must show their Iatan card to qualify for the 20%
discount.
The five-acre, low-rise condominium resort also is continuing
its travel agency incentive program that enables agencies to earn
free nights at the hotel based on bookings.
For every 10 nights booked in a 12-month period, travel agencies
get credit for one free night.
Credits can be accumulated and combined for a complimentary stay
up of to 14 days at a time and, as always, agents will be upgraded
to the best rooms available.
Though the free nights are for agent use only (they can't be
passed along to clients), whatever is earned in the incentive
program is credited to the booking agency rather than the
individual agent.
"We leave it up to the agency as to how they want to use the
free nights," said Hanalei Colony general manger Laura Beemer.
"The agency can combine credits from various agents within the
office, use the free nights as a reward for the agent who brought
in the most bookings or use it as an incentive for some other
internal program."
