BEAVER CREEK, Colo. -- The spa at Hyatt Regency Beaver Creek Resort
& Spa here is celebrating its first anniversary. The spa
facility, which was previously named the Total Beauty Centre,
underwent a $5 million renovation and reopened last July 11 as the
Allegria Spa. According to a spokeswoman for the resort, the
reopening of the spa has been a "complete success" and business to
Allegria has grown "tremendously" in the year the spa has been
open.
"Renovations included the removal of 20 guest rooms and conversion
of the space into spa facilities. "We chose to build a new spa in
the resort to improve the guest experience at the Hyatt and in
Beaver Creek," said Gaye Steinke, general manager of the Allegria
Spa.
"We spent a lot of time, energy and money to create a peaceful
and soothing venue." The 20,000-square-foot spa and fitness
facility was designed using the ancient Oriental decorating
philosophy of feng shui. The philosophy considers humans and their
environment as well as the placement of objects in a specific
place.
The facility features 20 treatment rooms offering a selection of
traditional and alternative treatments such as massages,
hydrotherapy, wraps, scrubs and facials as well as an assortment of
specialized treatments with the mountain environment in mind.
Also included is a fitness center featuring new Cybex and Precor
equipment; personal training programs; exercise classes; a
full-service hair and nail salon, and locker rooms with steam
rooms, plunge pools and private whirlpools.
Allegria offers mind-renewal programs as well as pottery,
painting, floral arranging, astrology charting and aura soma
classes.
Patina, the resort's fine dining establishment, offers menu
items that are low in calories and fat content.
