MAALAEA, Hawaii -- The Maui Ocean Center opened its Seascape
restaurant to the public.
The restaurant had been open only to visitors to the $20 million
aquarium attraction, which opened in mid-March.
The five-acre center overlooks Maalaea Harbor, midway between
the west and south Maui resorts areas.
It includes a 750,000-gallon tank featuring sharks and other
marine life; a building with three tanks featuring reef life, and a
whale exhibition center.
The Seascape, specializing in seafood, is open daily for lunch
only, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with bar hours continuing to 4 p.m.
The Seascape holds 150 people and is available for evening
functions.
Diners who decide to enter the Ocean Center can purchase
admission in the restaurant.
The center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is
$17.50 for adults and $12 for children.
