N.Y.'s Circle Line resumes sightseeing cruises

NEW YORK -- With heightened security measures in place, Circle Line Oct. 24 resumed narrated sightseeing cruises in New York Harbor from Battery Park in lower Manhattan.

The company said its one-hour cruises will not be able to stop at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, which remain closed following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Vessels initially will depart every 90 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. seven days a week. Fares are $10 for adults, $4 for children ages three to 12 and $8 for senior citizens.

Circle Line said it is accepting outstanding Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tickets until the monuments reopen.
