VALENCIA, Calif. -- Rebel Tours here, in partnership with
London-based tour operator Southbound, launched a program of
European coach tours with an introductory commission rate of 15%.
Rebel's previous standard pay on European coach tours and
cruises was 10% to 12%, Bob Stok, the firm's vice president,
said.
"Our 15% standard commission on all Southbound bookings will
continue through March 2002, with additional productivity
incentives of 2.5% and group discounts up to 5%."
Itineraries range from three to 21 nights, with departures every
week through October.
Land-only prices are based on double occupancy and range from $484
for either the three-night Highlander tour of Scotland or Quick
Look at Britain to $2,680 for the 21-night Russia and Northern
Capitals odyssey.
Two tour series, the 13-night Spotlight on Europe and the
16-night European Splendour, run until March and both offer
Christmas departures.
Spotlight on Europe visits England, Belgium, Germany, Austria,
Italy, Switzerland and France and is priced from $1,513. European
Splendour travels to those countries plus Holland, Liechtenstein
and Monaco, and is priced from $1,891.
Rebel Tours also is paying 15% on the Sept. 23 departure of a
nine-night river cruise package aboard the Calypso from Amsterdam
to Zurich.
The plan includes roundtrip air, all meals on board ship and one
night's hotel accommodation in Amsterdam and Zurich. The air and
cruise pricing starts at $2,699 from Miami and $2,799 from Los
Angeles or San Francisco, per person, double.
Starting with one night in a Zurich hotel, a 10-night cruise
package departing Sept. 30 sails up the Rhine from Basel,
Switzerland, to Dusseldorf, Germany, and Arnhem, Holland.
Air-inclusive prices start at $2,799 from Miami and $2,899 from Los
Angeles or San Francisco, per person, double. Base commission for
