NEW YORK -- Scand-America Tours has three new Norway programs and
an extensive Scandinavia/Eastern Europe tour outlined in its 2000
brochure, Norway and Beyond. The Norway tours are 13-day packages
with different themes.
The Best of Southern Norway package features town and city
sightseeing, fjord cruises, museum visits and valley and mountain
motorcoach tours. The program travels from Oslo through
Kristiansand, Hovden, Voss, Flaam, Bergen, Balestrand, Oppdal,
Trondheim, Roros and Lillehammer.
The Norwegian Glaciers and Adventures program visits museums and
natural sites in the heart of the country. Areas visited include
Oslo, Lillehammer, the Geiranger Fjord, the Jostedal Glacier,
waterfalls in Gudvangen, Flaam, Bergen, the Hardanger Fjords, Odda,
Kristiansand and Stavanger.
The Cultural Norway-East and West program has a focus on the
traditions of Norway dating to 1030. The tour unfolds with
sightseeing in Oslo; a canal cruise to Ostfold; sightseeing in
Lillehammer; visits to one of the country's largest churches in
Roros and the royal crowning cathedral in Trondheim; a stop at the
city of roses in Molde; fjord views in Geiranger; a visit to a goat
cheese farm on the way to Bergen, and an overnight in
Stavanger.
Included in all Norway packages are roundtrip air fare; ferry,
train and motorcoach transportation; guides, and daily breakfasts
and dinners.
Prices start from $2,585 from New York and $2,920 from Los
Angeles. The single supplement starts at $350. Other gateways are
available.
Scand-America also features a diverse, 17-day tour of
Scandinavia and eastern Europe. The Norway and Beyond tour features
city tours and a cruise from Stockholm, Sweden, to Helsinki,
Finland, and a train ride to St. Petersburg, Russia, for tours of
the homes of the czars and the Hermitage.
Trains will also take guests to Riga, Latvia, for a day of
leisure, and through the countryside of Latvia and Lithuania to
Warsaw, Poland, where they will tour the reconstructed city. Berlin
is visited via motorcoach.
Guests head back to Scandinavia via Copenhagen, Denmark, for
shopping and a tour before boarding an overnight ship to Oslo,
Norway.
A plane will bring guests to Reykjavik, Iceland, for two days of
sightseeing before heading home.
The starting cost is $3,995 from New York and $4,330 from Los
Angeles, with an $804 single supplement. All transfers, guides,
breakfasts and most dinners, plus four lunches and nine city tours
are included.
The Florida-based company's scheduled tours all depart July 24,
25 and 26. Other dates are available for groups.
