The State Department renewed a travel warning that recommends U.S.
citizens defer all travel to Tajikistan.
Although the country's political climate has improved, "the
security situation remains unpredictable," the department said.
Separately, the department said U.S. government personnel have
been forbidden to fly in or out of Bujumbura, the capital of
Burundi, during hours of darkness. The department has an
outstanding travel warning for Burundi due to the civil war
there.
The department also cautioned U.S. travelers to Mauritius to
avoid "crowds and street demonstrations" in light of recent public
protests in response to drought conditions, and renewed a warning
"against all travel" to Somalia.
