Tahiti Tourisme slates seminars

HONOLULU -- Tahiti Tourisme North America is hosting a series of destination seminars for travel agents from Nov. 7 through Nov. 16 at locations across the country.

The seminar is the first step toward becoming a certified Tahiti agent. Other steps include attending a seminar put on by one of the Tahiti Tourisme's partners, traveling to Tahiti on a familiarization trip and making four Tahiti bookings.

Agents who attend the seminars will get three continuing education credits from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents.

The seminars are free but reservations are required. All seminars run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and include breakfast. Agents will receive a destination presentation and a reference binder on Tahiti. For reservations, call (310) 414-8484, Ext. 450.

Dates and locations of the seminars follow:

  • Nov. 7: Best Western Executive Inn in Tacoma, Wash., and at the Regal Harvest House in Boulder, Colo.
  • Nov. 8: Walnut Creek Marriott in Walnut Creek, Calif., and at the Embassy Suites Bloomington in Bloomington, Minn.
  • Nov. 9: Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, Calif., and at the Crowne Plaza in White Plains, N.Y.
  • Nov. 14: MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Va.
  • Nov. 15: The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz., and at the Radisson Bahia Mar Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
  • Nov. 16: Radisson Hotel La Jolla in La Jolla, Calif., and at the Sheraton Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta.
