HONOLULU -- During July, travel agents can get discounts on Lanai
on accommodations, car rentals, golf, sporting clays, snorkel and
scuba trips, tours and food.
The two hotels on the island, the Lodge at Koele and the Manele
Bay Hotel, and several businesses on the island are hosting the
ninth Travel Agent Month on Lanai.
Rates for Sunday-through-Thursday stays at the Lodge at Koele cost
$100 per night, per room for a Koele room; $150 per night for a
garden room, and $200 per night for a plantation room.
At the Manele Bay Hotel, a gardenview room runs $100 a night, a
partial oceanview room costs $150 a night, an oceanview room runs
$200 a night and an oceanfront room runs $250 a night.
A modified American meal plan runs $75 per person, per night at
both hotel restaurants.
Agents can stay a maximum of three nights at each resort with
the discounted rates.
Agents staying Monday through Friday can golf at the Experience at
Koele or the Challenge at Manele for $50 per round.
Those who want to try their hand at sporting clays can do so at
Lanai Pine Sporting Clays with a 30% discount.
Dollar Rent A Car is offering 50% discounts during July.
Trilogy Ocean Sports is offering 50% off snorkel and scuba
trips. Spouses of travel agents will receive a 25% discount.
Lanai EcoAdventure Co. is offering 50% off sea kayaking, biking
and trekking tours.
To make reservations, agents must fax their request on agency
letterhead two weeks before arrival with a copy of their IATA list
to Lanai Resorts, Room Reservations.
A two-night deposit is required. Agents need to show a photo ID
with an Iatan card.
