Travel Weekly's Hawaii E-Letter: March 17, 2003

PLEASANT HOLIDAYS has new agent incentives. It will award $10,000 in airfare to the winner of a special drawing. For every reservation an agent books and tickets (refunds or exchanges on air will not qualify) with Air by Pleasant before June 30, he or she will be entered into the drawing. One passenger equals one entry, so the more passengers an agent books, the more chance of winning. All travel must be done on United Airlines. Air by Pleasant will track the details. The winner will be announced July 7. (800) 877-8111; www.airbypleasant.com

SAVE $100 per reservation to Hawaii with Funjet Vacations. This is valid for bookings during March of three nights or longer. The promotional code ALOHA must be entered in VAX VacationAccess to receive the savings. Sample vacations to Oahu start at $439.99 from Los Angeles, $659.99 from Houston and $714.99 from Chicago. These include roundtrip airfare and five nights at the budget Ohana Reef Towers. Stays on all islands are available. www.vaxvacationaccess.com

HAWAIIAN AIRLINES, in an effort to better-control pricing, said it will end discounts to wholesalers on neighbor-island packages. This predominantly affects Hawaii residents who travel to other islands from Oahu for weekend visits. An airline spokesman said transpacific packages are unaffected.
