Travel Weekly's Mexico E-Letter: March 19, 2003

PLEASANT HOLIDAYS, which counts Mexico among its top selling destinations, announced a new travel cancellation policy to ease travel concerns in the event of war with Iraq. Customers who have purchased the Pleasant Protection Plan (PPP) with their travel packages will still receive the full benefits of the plan as outlined in the contract. For customers who do not purchase the PPP and cancel their vacation up to four days prior to departure, the operator will issue a credit for future travel equal to the cost of the package, less any air carrier cancellation or change fees, penalties and non-recoverable vendor costs. The credit must be used by Dec. 15. Customers who cancel and turn down the travel credit will be refunded, subject to the normal cancellation penalties. Cancellation and change fees will be waived for flights booked on American Trans Air (ATA). For other carriers, Pleasant will abide by the airlines' published cancellation policies. Travel agents will receive commissions on Pleasant bookings that are completed by the client. For information, call (800) 448-3333 or visit the Web at www.PleasantAgent.com.
