The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland, is investing about $1.7 million in the first quarter to refurbish 36 of its 232 guestrooms.

The redo is part of an ongoing renovation program and comes on the heels of the redesign of 36 rooms in 2014.

The decor is inspired by the hotel’s 1920s heritage, Gleneagles said. Improvements will include soft furnishings, light fixtures and air conditioning. The upgrades will also include a new 26,910-square-foot conference venue and tennis center, the Gleneagles Arena, set for completion by the end of April.

The property, which hosted The Ryder Cup in September, also completed a number of renovations last year in honor of the event, including a $7.6 million refurbishment of The Club and a $380,000 redo of its existing conference venue, the Gleneagles Suite.

In 2012 the resort completed a $1.5 million investment in its PGA Centenary Course.
