Description
Classic resort nestled along the May River in the Lowcountry of South Carolina between Hilton Head Island and Savannah.
Location and History
Once a tame upscale inn with 48 fine-tuned cottages and a fabled Jack Nicklaus golf course, Montage Hotels and Resorts took over management in 2016, and the place now hangs 200 hotel keys tied to multi-million-dollar homes as part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The hotel also boasts one of the best spas in the state, and its prowess with weddings and commercial gatherings is legend.
The waterfront property, which comprises nearly 20,000 acres, was built as an estate a century ago.
