Description
At end of the Chain Bridge within a fully renovated Art Nouveau palace - Rooms are classic with high ceilings, large windows.
Location and History
On the Pest bank of the Danube, this property sits opposite the historic Chain Bridge in an unbeatable location. The rooms overlooking the Danube can rightfully claim to have the best views in the city, with postcard vistas of the Chain Bridge, Buda Castle and the slow, swirling river.
The art-nouveau building, dating to 1906 and built for the Gresham Life Assurance Company, was nearly destroyed during World War II. During the Communist era, it was broken into apartments, but these days, the property has undergone multiple renovations that have enabled it to maintain as one of the city's top hotels.
