Ulica Od Puca 1, Dubrovnik, Croatia 20000
Description
Originally a 17th century nobleman's estate, now a boutique hotel - 1 block to Old City Walls, Rectory Palace and Sponza Palace.
Location and History
One of few hotels within the Dubrovnik city walls, and the best by far, this restored 18th-century baroque manor house has a prime position overlooking charming Gundulic Square in the center of the old walled city. This stone plaza is usually filled with vendor booths and a few small outdoor cafes and restaurants.
Constructed as a private residence, it became Dubrovnik's first hotel in 1859. Over the years it has been completely modernized, but it has managed to retain the genteel ambience of an upscale residence.
