Description
Overlooking the Arno river featuring XIX century frescoes with a library of books; 15 minutes walk from the main station.
Location and History
Located on Lungarno Archibusieri, facing the Arno from across the main road, 50 meters south of the Ponte Vecchio offering some of the best views, a 3-minute stroll from the Uffizi, this is one of the best independent hotels in Florence for midrange travelers who seek modern accommodations without sacrificing a sense of place.
The hotel has roots that go back to the 13th century, yet it is perhaps best known as the setting for the 1985 Academy Award-winning film A Room With a View, a fact that is driven home at every opportunity; the staff has all the facts memorized and their English is excellent.
