It's situated on the far edge of Sultanahmet district, right inside the historic Byzantine stone walls, and just one street in from the sea. It's a quiet neighborhood, far from the bustle of Sultanahmet Square. A large section of the historic Byzantine stone wall is across the street from the front doors.
This very long, rectangular three-story building is the former 1700s barracks of a group of seafaring men and is filled with a large collection of historic objects, vintage photographs, tools of various tradesmen and other interesting antiques.
