Location and History
Once a 13th-century convent and connected to a historic cloister next door, this hotel could not be in a more central position. It was originally commissioned by King Sancho II. Its courtyard with blossoming trees and flowers is testimony to its survival of a major earthquake that decimated the surrounding area.
Its inclusion in IHG's Vignette Collection of boutique-hotels helps business, especially in a part of town with few brand affiliations. This was the second of the collection in Europe and only its sixth globally, so it is just making first impressions.
