Location and History
On the road to Seal Harbor, adjacent to the azalea garden (the inn's proprietor also designed the famed garden), about 12 miles southwest of Bar Harbor, abutting the southwest corner of Acadia National Park (half-mile via bicycle trail), this gracious old country inn offers a spectacular view of Seal Harbor and the distant Atlantic.
Originally constructed in 1883, the hotel burnt to the ground a decade later, was rebuilt to higher standards, then reopened in 1899.
