Quietly tucked away off of East Palm Canyon Drive, midway between downtown and the Indian Canyon Golf Resort, this nostalgic midcentury landmark was designed in 1952 by renowned architect William Cody for movie mogul Jack Wrather, who produced The Lone Ranger and Lassie.
It hosted U.S. presidents (Nixon and Reagan included) and movie stars like Marilyn Monroe in its heyday, although now it is more likely to bring in well-heeled couples who prefer to avoid the big resorts.
