The hotel has polished any rough edges to perfection, giving guests the high level of service they expect from the Peninsula name.
Built in 1908, this was the setting for the signing of the 1973 Paris Peace Accords (the treaty formally proclaiming the end of the Vietnam War), but most Yanks prefer to remember the hotel as George Gershwin's lair while penning An American in Paris in 1928.
