Location and History
This luxurious Hilton is situated in Rio's coastal Barra da Tijuca suburb where the 2016 Olympics were held. Luckily, public transportation from the hotel is convenient, although traffic into town can be abysmal.
Instead of the usual beachfront location of most hotels there, Hilton is located several miles inland on a busy highway, far removed from the beach, but overlooking a large lagoon, forests and interior mountains. Panoramic views from the rooftop and many guest rooms are quite spectacular.
