On a quiet street, behind a splashing fountain and surrounded by tropical foliage, this boutique-hotel occupies an old post office in the heart of the French Quarter. This property, once known as Shinta Mani Club, is unique among Siem Reap's hotel choices in that it donates a percentage of room rates to its nonprofit foundation.
Mixed in with regular staffers are as many as 40 students of the hospitality industry selected from the poorest of the poor within the surrounding communities who are given, free of charge, nine months of hands-on training.
