Description
Mediterranean-style Hotel set on landscaped acres with magnificent coastal views, built on the ruins of a Knights Templar Castle.
Location and History
Set on 13 hectares of rugged hillside, this idyllic chateau overlooks the medieval village of St.-Paul-de-Vence (about 10 minutes by car) and the sparkling Mediterranean in the distance.
The property is a medieval marvel that dates from 1115, when the Knights Templar were granted the land by the Count of Provence, but the hotel was built in 1936. A part of the Templar castle—a battered wall and the remnants of a drawbridge—stands as a potent reminder of this parcel's rich history.
