Guests at Protravel International's annual Children's Holiday Party paid a visit to Santa, aka Peter Vlitas, senior vice president of airline relations. The party, held at Mount Sinai Downtown hospital in New York, welcomed 400 patients, their families and caregivers.

Signature Travel Network handed out its 2016 Travel Hero Awards during its annual sales meeting and trade show at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. The awards recognize individuals affiliated with a Signature preferred supplier partner who have gone beyond the call of duty to ensure excellent consultant/client service. Presenters were Karryn Christopher, far left, Signature senior VP of sales and marketing, and Alex Sharpe, far right, Signature president and CEO. Accepting awards, left to right, were Shemain Grasso of Regent Seven Seas Cruises (accepting on behalf of Tami Louis), Frances Broussard of Red Carnation Hotel Collection, Robyn Basso of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau and Ray Benevides of Classic Vacations.

Signature Travel Network held its annual Sales Meeting and Trade Show at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Avoya Travel recently treated a number of the top-selling independent agencies in the Avoya Travel Network to a Best of the Best reward trip to Ireland. To qualify, agencies had to log more than $1 million in sales for 2015. Co-hosted by CIE Tours International, the six-night trip included sightseeing for agents and their guests in Dublin, Waterford, Cork and Killarney; a Blarney Castle visit; and a Dingle Peninsula tour. Travel industry leaders made a $13,500 donation to the international water charity Just a Drop for its clean water project at Norah Junior School in Uganda. The money was raised at the MMGY Tourism Cup competition at World Travel Market in London. The Incentives and Meetings Expo (TIME), the first trade show and destination event hosted by the AMResorts Meetings & Incentives team and Amstar DMC, drew more than 130 industry leaders and meetings and incentive planners to Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa in December. Attendees met with AMResorts’ group sales teams as they highlighted the qualities and experiences offered to groups at each of the properies.
