Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya is set to open on Nov. 1.
Amenities at the adults-only
resort include suite options with private pools; six a la carte restaurants as well as a
buffet venue, cafe and grill; complimentary greens fees at nearby Riviera Maya
Golf Club; three pools, including an oceanfront infinity pool; an open-air
theater for shows, events and entertainment; and a 7,000-square-foot Secrets
Spa by Pevonia.
“The Cancun/Riviera Maya’s
popularity for North Americans is undeniable, having enjoyed another record
year in 2014 and added airlift to the destination,” said Alex Zozaya, CEO of
Apple Leisure Group.
“This makes Cancun a
particularly desirable market to expand our portfolio,” he said.
In 2014, AMResorts grew its
presence in Mexico by 12% with openings in Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Playa
Mujeres.
Additional 2015 and 2016
openings in Mexico markets include new Puerto Vallarta and Playa Mujeres
properties.
