Celebrating its 10th year, Oscar's steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas will add patio seating later this year.

Oscar's al fresco area, with views of the hotel's glass dome and Fremont Street, will be created on a new rooftop structure next to Oscar's lounge. The space will seat 50 to 60 people and will offer the full dinner menu in addition to wine and cocktails.

Construction is expected to begin this spring. The restaurant will remain open during construction.

A lifesize bronze statue of former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman, the restaurant's namesake, was also unveiled recently.

The statue depicts Goodman with one of his notorious clients, reputed mobster Tony Spilotro; it is located in the lobby outside the restaurant's entrance. Artist Brian Hanlon sculpted the statue, titled "Good Counsel."
