Earlier this month we recorded an episode about cruising with Royal Caribbean exec Vicki Freed, Gene Sloan of The Points Guy and travel advisor Penny Rushing. Today we continue the discussion, where Vicki, Gene and Penny talk about the onboard atmosphere on cruise ships -- and how lines and passengers are adapting to reduced capacity and distancing.

We also talked about the on shore experience, specifically about "bubble tours." And after listening to that conversation, we wanted more on shore tours, so we asked another expert, Kelly Hubbard, the director of product development for Windstar Cruises, to talk more about the concept. Windstar, a small-ship line that focuses on the destination experience, has modified and created tours to bring in some of the port experiences that passengers like to do solo, like sit at a cafe, shop or relax on a beach.

The episode with Vicki, Penny and Gene was recorded Thursday, Sept. 2, and our conversation with Kelly Hubbard was recorded separately, on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Both were edited for length and clarity.
