2017 Developments

Announced a merger with Altour (No. 14 on the 2017 Power List), seeking synergies between brands but with no significant changes to Altour operations.

Acquired CTS (Corporate Travel Services), a major player in the Mexico TMC marketplace.

Acquired Travel Management Partners and added the company to its Travel Leaders Corporate portfolio as well as several other travel management companies.

During 2017, Andrew Harper Travel, Colletts Travel, CruCon Cruise Outlet (No. 57 on the 2017 Power List), Travel-On and Travelmore joined Travel Leaders Group.

Announced a partnership with Lufthansa City Center, a global franchise network based in Frankfurt. CruCon Cruise Outlet announced a partnership with HSN to bring exclusive cruise offers to viewers.

Travel Leaders Network completed its first year, bringing three agency groups (Travel Leaders Associates, Results Travel and Vacation.com) together as one global network. As a result of the creation of Travel Leaders Network, there were enhancements to Agent Profiler, marketing, technology, supplier partnerships and educational programs. Travel Leaders Network has more than 40,000 members

Protravel International and Tzell Travel Group held their first joint travel trade shows in Los Angeles and New York.

Nexion held its highest-attended annual conference, CoNexion, launching a technology platform called MyNexion and individual coaching services. In 2017, Nexion also offered its first Sales Summit for romance travel and its first Master Marketing Symposium.

Travel Leaders Group in 2018 acquired Barrhead Travel Group of Scotland.

Travel Leaders Corporate announced a partnership with Servcorp, an executive suite and virtual office provider, to provide travel services to its members.

Travel Leaders Group named 2018 Year of the Travel Agent to highlight that, over the last decade, the travel agency industry has flourished through technology, the growth of travel options and personalized service.
