Fairmont Kea Lani

Located on the white sands of Wailea's Polo Beach in Maui, the Fairmont Kea Lani in early 2015 completed the renovation of all of its 413 one-bedroom suites and 37 villas. The 9,000-square-foot Willow Stream Spa features local ingredients and traditions, including experience showers inspired by types of Maui rain, a hot lava rock foot bed and a volcanic mud bar.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is the only property run by the Canadian luxury hotelier on Hawaii Island. The resort, which is located on the Kona-Kohala coast, includes 243 rooms clustered in two-story bungalows as well as an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.

Inn at Spanish Bay

The 269-room Inn at Spanish Bay is one of three properties at California's Pebble Beach Resorts. This 261-room property in Half Moon Bay, Calif., features two golf courses, a 16,000-square-foot spa, six lighted tennis courts and three communal gas firepits with views of the Pacific. Its four dining venues emphasize locally sourced ingredients. In a commitment to ecofriendliness, all guestrooms use low-energy LED bulbs.

St. Regis Bora Bora

This luxury resort on Bora Bora in French Polynesia features the largest overwater and beach bungalow villas in the South Pacific, each with a terrace and gazebo and some boasting Jacuzzis and/or private pools. The resort offers the Miri Miri Spa by Clarins on a private island, a signature restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten and the Italian-influenced Far Niente.
