Scenic Group has temporarily shut down its online reservation system and websites after a security breach, leaving travel advisors and guests to handle bookings by phone or email.

The company said the breach happened on Feb. 21 and involved unauthorized access to its IT systems. Scenic said the incident is under investigation by a cybersecurity company, along with forensic experts.

Scenic said that its IT systems, including the Scenic Group websites, will remain offline. No time frame was given as to when the online reservation system or website service would be restored.

Scenic declined to comment on the type of breach due to the ongoing investigation, but did say that the breach originated from Australia, where the company is headquartered. "There is currently no evidence to indicate that any guest, staff data or personal information has been impacted,” Scenic said.

Scenic said inquiries about new and existing bookings, customer-service questions or invoice matters should be sent via email or received via phone through Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours or Emerald Cruises.

Scenic Group includes Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Emerald Cruises and Evergreen Tours.
