Budget redesigns points program: Travel Weekly

CHICAGO -- Budget Rent a Car redesigned its Unlimited Budget travel agency loyalty program, and for the first time will reward agents with points for travel industry rates.

Previously, points were only awarded for leisure and corporate rates, but now agents can earn points on their own travel.

"We wanted to make the program as easy as possible," said Mike Blakey, director of travel industry marketing. "It didn't make sense to exclude any of the rates."

Unlimited launched in September 1997. The main feature is a MasterCard debit card. Agents receive points for booking completed rentals with Budget and once an agent reaches 25 points (five weekly rentals), Budget sends an Unlimited Budget card, which has $25.

Additional points are deposited on the card twice a month, and the card can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted.

Through Dec. 31, Budget is offering 10 points for weekly leisure bookings at participating locations.
