Enterprise Rent-A-Car added upgrades and
new features to its travel agent Web site.
In addition to
existing features that enable agents to set their own rate and
commission structure, new additions to the site, www.enterprise.com/ta, include commission rates that
are customizable on a customer-by-customer basis, as well as
information on the total cost for car rentals, including all taxes,
which is listed up front rather than at the end of the booking
process.
The site also
features tools to identify the closest Enterprise locations to
North American ports of call, and a password-protected database
where agents can maintain customer lists, booking histories and
preferences of each client.
In October 2005,
Enterprise launched a program that enabled travel agents to earn up
to 15% on car rentals by choosing their own pay plan. Agents
register for one of four commission rates that range from 5% on
highly discounted car rental rates to 15% for the standard rental
rates.
To date, more than
3,000 agents have signed up for the program.
