Enterprise Holdings has acquired AutoShare CarSharing Network.

Toronto-based AutoShare, which was founded in 1998, has more than 12,000 members. No purchase price was disclosed.

Enterprise will operate AutoShare under its Enterprise CarShare unit but will keep the brand name.

Enterprise continues to take on Hertz Global Holdings and Avis Budget Group for market-share in the expanding car-sharing industry. Enterprise acquired PhillyCarShare in 2011, Mint Cars On-Demand in 2012, and IGO CarSharing and Zimride last year.

Avis Budget acquired car-sharing leader Zipcar for about $500 million last year, when Hertz debuted its ‘24/7’ keyless hourly rental service.
