The San Francisco Travel Association has formed a
co-marketing partnership with Lyft, the car-hailing service known for the glowing pink moustache in the windshield.
As part of the
agreement, the San Francisco Travel Association will offer a “Ride About Town”
credit for as much as $10 for first-time Lyft users.
“We want to make sure visitors have efficient and convenient
transportation options such as Lyft to navigate and travel throughout the city,”
San Francisco Travel CEO Joe D’Alessandro said in a statement.
The agreement is notable in part for including San
Francisco-based Lyft and not larger competitor Uber, which is also based in San
Francisco.
The agreement echoes a similar pact San Francisco Travel
made with San Francisco-based accommodations provider Airbnb in late July. San
Francisco Travel said at the time that it would work with Airbnb on
highlighting unique characteristics of the city’s neighborhoods and further
connect Airbnb with meeting and event planners.
